Woy Woy Bay

Correa Bay Boat Ramp to Woy Way Bay and Waterfall Bay & Return

The Central Coast is a beautiful place to kayak, blessed with a variety of National Parks that surround the little villages and towns that make up this area. There are so many great examples of paddling locations in natural and beautiful areas that can be found so close to suburbia.

Such is Woy Woy Bay. Just a stones throw from Woy Woy, but for all intents and purposes you could be miles away.

Our tour starts in Correa Bay. We paddle down the Woy Woy Inlet and past the waterfront homes. From there we paddle into the magnificent Hawkesbury sandstone country. Steep hills clad in eucalypt forests dominate this area. Huge boulders dot the shoreline after tumbling down from higher cliffs.

If you are quiet you will see bream, mullet and other estuarine species darting under your kayak. Bird life is prolific, with cormorants, herons, cockatoos and magpies just a few of the species to be seen. If you are lucky, you may see the majestic white breasted sea eagle hunting for fish.

There are several small beaches along the way where you can stretch your legs or have a bite to eat. If there has been a bit of rain, the waterfall at the aptly named Waterfall Bay will be flowing and it is a great spot to get a fresh water wash - while sitting in your kayak
